There are a number of different crops grown around Gin Gin. The very best months to go are January to February for the mango picking, and from March to April for citrus picking.

There are no back packer hostels in Gin Gin, however, there are a number of hostels in Bundaberg, which is less than 50 kms away. Many people commute each day.
