Best time to find fruit picking work in Piangil

Piangil grows a large range of produce, ranging from vegetables, fruits, grapes and a variety of citrus produces like oranges, lemons and limes.

You can generally find work from December to April, but the very best months are June to August, where you can find lots of work on the citrus farms and in the vineyards.

Being such a small town, there is no real accommodation options available to you. However, less than 20 km's away, in Nyah West, there are a number of options available to you, including a hotel, a backpacker hostel and a caravan park.

Many farms have accommodation options available for workers including on-site facilities and camping spots for tents and camper vans. However, you should organise this with the farm before arriving, not all farms have spots available, and others may already be full when you arrive.
