Are you interested in finding some fruit picking or harvest work in Yarra Valley? Do you need more information about jobs & accommodation in and around Yarra Valley? Then keep reading to discover all you need to know to make your trip to Yarra Valley a success!
Yarra Valley is an area on the outskirts of Melbourne. It is home to many famous Australian vineyards and wineries, as well as a variety of fruit farms and orchards.
The Yarra Valley includes such suburbs and locations as Montrose, Hoddles Creek, Yarra Junction, Silvan, Gladysdale, Coldstream, Wandin, Seville, Monbulk, Yarra Glen, Lilydale and Healesville, and more.
Because of its large area, different farms and orchards can have different postcodes. People wanting to come and work and travel Australia to extend their Working Holiday Visa to an Extended Working Holiday Visa should check that their farm/orchard postcode is a valid one.
It is located 40 - 90 km's to the east of Melbourne. The drive from Melbourne CBD to edge of the Yarra Valley should take you about an hour, although it can be longer during peak hour traffic.
The best time to find work is over the late spring to early autumn months of November to April, where there is almost always work to be found.
During the rest of the year it is much harder to find any picking work, he highly recommend you organise a job before going to Yarra Valley during the months of May to October, otherwise you may find that you cannot find any work.
